For thousands of years Earth has been everything. Our home. Our Universe.Awhile ago we thought that we were the center of the universe. We were so special.
But now, with the evolution of science, we know how small we actually are in comparison to all that surrounds us. We are surrounded of billions of galaxies, each one with billions of stars and billions of planets.
Today I’m going to talk about exoplanets, planets beyond the ones in our Solar System that orbit other stars, especially about the ones that might countain
life similar to life on Earth. But, keep in mind, that life doesn’t necessarily be like in our planet, there could be life in so many diferente ways that we can’t imagine in planets very different from Earth.
KEPLER-452b- It’s the most similar planet to Earth, located about 1400 light years away in a sun like star that is 4% larger, a billion and a half years older and 20% brighter than our sun, and 452b takes only 385 days to orbit it’s star which puts the planet in the habitable zone. It was discovered by the Kepler telescope which searches for possible Earth twins by observing periodic dips in the brightness of stars as planets pass before them, like the way our moon causes na eclipse hear on Earth.
There are other planets that could host life but right now, kepler 452b is the most importante so I decided to point that one out. There is much more to explore about exoplanets and I’ll write more about them in the future.
See you soon, and I hope that you enjoyed and though that this was educational. Big HUG
